We Value Connection.

Our origin story began in 2007 when we each moved to Los Angeles to continue our love of learning and appreciation of new experiences. In a serendipitous fashion, our paths crossed as freshmen at the University of Southern California (USC). With that, the beginning of a lifelong bond began.

For over a decade, we have established a friendship that continues to strengthen with time. Despite living in different cities and thriving in our respective careers, we have made a point to cherish the memories and moments that come with life - celebrating our successes, uniting during challenges, and giving gratitude for the gift of each day. With every shared occasion, there is also a shared bottle of wine.

In 2020, when many things in the world were seemingly unpredictable, the need to stay connected with loved ones and treasure each day felt evermore pressing. It was during a walk down memory lane, between sips of Cabernet and fits of laughter, that we visualized what it would be to create our own wine that could be shared with others to enjoy. It is our belief that the act of friends coming together can and should be enhanced with a glass of wine to drink and toast. It was then that Mela was born.

The word Mela, short for melanin, honors our shades of brown. In other languages, including Sanskrit and Hebrew, ‘Mela’ is defined as, “to gather” and “to be full”, respectively. Mela beautifully marries the essence of friendship, longevity, and quality.

We develop wines for the modern wine enthusiast. Whether you're uncorking solo, tasting with friends, or pouring a glass for the whole family, Mela adds the finishing touch to any occasion.
